David
H. McDaniel, M.D.
David H. McDaniel, M.D.,a board-certified dermatologist,
is the director of Anti-Aging Research and Consulting. Over the
past two decades, Dr. McDaniel has consulted with many of the
principal laser and cosmeceutical companies around the world on
numerous research projects. He was very significantly involved
in the development of several notable projects and techniques
including: laser skin resurfacing, laser hair removal, laser vein
therapies, non-ablative skin rejuvenation and innovative new imaging
techniques.
His interests and expertise include both conducting and designing
FDA clinical trials for medical devices and drugs as well as testing
and refining new laser techniques, skin care products, and skin
care equipment. Other consulting services include clinical trial
design, device engineering design and cosmeceutical and skin care
product formulation consulting. He is inventor or co-inventor
of numerous patents related to cosmetic surgery.
Dr. McDaniel is assisted in these endeavors by an accomplished
staff including M.D. and Ph.D. associates and consultants, research
fellows, study managers and coordinators, registered nurses and
estheticians as well as the staff and facilities of the Laser
Skin & Vein Center of Virginia where he serves as medical director.
Dr. McDaniel is an assistant professor of Clinical Dermatology
and Plastic Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He has
been listed in Best Doctors in America three times and Who's Who
in Medicine and Healthcare four times.
Roy
Geronemus, M.D.
Roy Geronemus, M.D., director of the
Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, graduated from
Harvard University and pursued his medical education at the University
of Miami School of Medicine. He trained in dermatology at the
New York University Medical Center where he was the chief resident
and subsequently underwent a fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic
Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He is clinical professor of dermatology
at the New York University Medical Center where he has founded
its laser program and served nine years as chief of dermatologic
and laser surgery. He is also the director of the skin/laser division
in the department of plastic surgery at the New York Eye & Ear
Infirmary. He is presently the President of the American Society
for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Geronemus has been a featured speaker of the American Academy
of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and
the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery for many years,
as well as speaking to other national and international audiences.
He has published over 135 medical articles, chapters and books,
including the most recent 2nd Edition of Illustrated Cutaneous
and esthetic Laser Surgery. He has been involved with the development
of several new laser systems and therapeutic techniques, which
are now commonly used throughout the world. He had been listed
in New York Magazine’s Best Doctors in New York seven times,
three times in Woodward and White's Best Doctor's in America and
in Town & Country's Best Cosmetic Surgeons.
Robert
A. Weiss, M.D.
Robert A. Weiss, M.D. developed an interest in medical research
while an undergraduate at Columbia University, and he graduated
cum laude in 1974. Dr. Weiss received his medical degree from
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1978. Following
one year of internal medicine internship, Dr. Weiss pursued a
career in diagnostic radiology serving as a fellow at the Johns
Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Weiss then completed a dermatology residency in 1983 at the
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Continuing interest
in research led to a fellowship at the National Institutes of
Health under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Lawley. In 1986, Dr. Weiss
was promoted to assistant professor of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Weiss' interest and teaching activity in venous disease and
dermatologic surgery led to his election to the Board of Directors
and ultimately he served as President of the American College
of Phlebology. He now serves as the Treasurer for the American
Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is also a member of the Board
of Directors of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Weiss is director of the Maryland
Laser, Skin, and Vein Institute, where numerous clinical trials
on new laser and other devices are conducted. Dr. Weiss was board
certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology
in 1983, and is a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic
Surgery, The American Academy of Dermatology, and member of the
American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society
of Laser Medicine and Surgery. He has also served on the Board
of Directors of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery
and numerous committees of the ASDS, AAD and ASLMS.
From 1993 until recently, Dr. Weiss served as Associate or Contributing
Editor for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Weiss is a well known international
lecturer in cosmetic surgery, and he is the author of over 80
publications, including a dozen textbook chapters. The Weiss’
latest textbook is titled, Vein Diagnosis and Treatment: A Comprehensive
Approach (McGraw-Hil, 2001). Dr. Weiss has been invited speaker
for dozens of worldwide scientific presentations. He frequently
teaches at workshops on intense pulsed light, lasers, sclerotherapy,
ambulatory phlebectomy and radio-frequency ablation.
